Sent for His name’s sake

Romans 1 introduces Paul as a servant of Jesus Christ, called and set apart for the gospel. Pastor Drew connects the meaning of apostle as a sent one with the varied work of missionaries. Their locations and tasks differ, but their purpose is to spread the gospel for Christ’s name.

Pray with purpose and make time to fast

The first two challenges are to pray and fast. Pray for laborers, open doors, the spread of the Word, and boldness. Set aside time to seek God for those He sends, the planting of churches, and direction and protection in their work.

Encourage and give

A letter, email, or personal message can remind missionaries that their church family remembers them. Financial partnership also meets real needs. The message explains the church’s approach to missions giving and calls believers to follow the Holy Spirit’s leading with a willing heart.

Learn, share, and commit

Learn what God is doing through missionary reports, share what you have seen and heard of Christ, and live in a way that reflects the gospel. These seven practices turn missions emphasis into a practical pattern of gospel partnership.
